Hyderabad Oct 27: Questions have been raised over reports of assaults involving Muslim youths in Hyderabad after two young men, Mohammed Abdul Moyeed and Ali Bin Hassan, were allegedly attacked when they intervened to help a minor boy being assaulted by a group of 8–10 persons near a mosque in Rajendranagar.

According to the details, the two youths were returning after attending a function when they witnessed the alleged assault on the boy. They reportedly intervened to rescue him but were themselves attacked by the group. Mohammed Abdul Moyeed sustained an injury near his eye.

The two victims subsequently reached Rajendranagar Police Station after escaping the alleged assault. They were later admitted to Osmania General Hospital, where the MBT Spokesperson Amjedullah Khan visited them and enquired about the incident.

The MBT, however, has urged Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to ensure a thorough investigation, identify all those involved and take strict legal action against the accused in connection with the alleged assault on the minor and the two youths.

The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of Muslim youths in the city, particularly amid reports of alleged attacks. However, the circumstances and motive behind this particular incident have not yet been independently established.

Will the police identify all those involved and clarify the circumstances surrounding the assault? A transparent investigation and timely action are essential to establish the facts, ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents. The police version and the outcome of the investigation are awaited.
