New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party’s National President Nitin Nabin hoisted the National Flag at the party’s Central Office in Delhi on Saturday on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, urging citizens and party colleagues to move forward with the resolve of building a Viksit Bharat.
On behalf of the party’s crores of Karyakartas, the BJP National President conveyed Independence Day greetings and best wishes to the entire nation, said an official statement.
Party President Nitin Nabin said, “On the 80th anniversary of Independence Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the citizens of the country, all family members, and all members of the BJP family present here.”
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 80th anniversary of Independence is being celebrated with the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat’, and everyone will move forward with the resolve of a Viksit Bharat. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat,” said the BJP National President.
Those present on the occasion included senior BJP leaders, along with hundreds of party workers.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described his Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort as a “memorable” occasion, sharing glimpses from the historic ramparts and calling on the nation to renew its commitment to building a Viksit Bharat.
In a post on X after leading the 80th Independence Day celebrations, PM Modi shared photographs and glimpses from the Red Fort and reflected on the significance of the national occasion.
“A memorable Independence Day at the Red Fort! This day reminds us of the courage and sacrifice of those who gave us freedom. At the same time, it is a day to renew our commitment to building a Viksit Bharat. May the Tricolour always inspire us to rise above every challenge, strengthen the bonds of unity and dedicate ourselves to the nation.”
PM Modi earlier hoisted the National Flag from the ramparts of the iconic Red Fort and addressed the nation. The unfurling of the Tricolour was followed by a 21-gun salute, while a ceremonial showering of flowers from a helicopter also took place.
