Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) Actress Manasi Joshi Roy, who essays the titular role in the television show ‘Lakshmi Niwas’ is over the moon as her work has connected globally.

Recently, Dr. Kavita Saini, Clinical Psychologist, Founder & CEO of Rhythm Psychological Services, and board member of The Women Empowerment Foundation, recently presented clips from Lakshmi Niwas during a board meeting of The Women Empowerment Foundation in the Washington DC tristate area. The clips were showcased as part of discussions about launching women’s support groups focused on resilience, caregiving, emotional well-being, community building, and cultural stewardship.

Reacting to the same, Manasi Joshi Roy shared, “As an actor, there is no greater joy than knowing a character has travelled beyond entertainment and become part of meaningful conversations in people’s lives. Lakshmi’s quiet strength, compassion, resilience, and unwavering sense of family have always felt deeply meaningful to me. To know that her journey is now inspiring discussions around women’s empowerment, all the way in the United States, is truly humbling”.

“I feel grateful that Lakshmi Niwas and Lakshmi herself are helping shine a light on the immense value, dignity, and emotional strength women bring to families and communities every single day”, she added.

At the heart of the show is Lakshmi, a woman who quietly holds her family together with resilience, emotional strength, dignity, and unwavering care. The scene in question featured Lakshmi standing up for Revati when she was disrespected for not earning money. In an emotionally powerful moment, Lakshmi reminds Revati that the money she has quietly saved over time belongs equally to them both, reinforcing an important message about women’s invisible labour, shared financial contributions, and the importance of financial independence in today’s society. The scene sparked meaningful conversations around caregiving, dignity, resilience, emotional labour, and women’s agency within families.
