Several pilgrims from Hyderabad who travelled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah are reportedly stranded after their return flights, scheduled for October 19, were cancelled amid the ongoing regional conflict.
The stranded pilgrims have appealed to the Indian government and Telangana authorities for urgent assistance, claiming that their repeated attempts to contact the Indian Embassy have not received a response.
According to the pilgrims, they are facing difficulties arranging food and other essential supplies, with women and children also among those affected.
Their uncertain return arrangements have added to their concerns. The pilgrims have urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi to intervene and coordinate with the concerned authorities to facilitate their safe return to India.
They have called for immediate assistance, including arrangements for food and other basic necessities, until alternative travel arrangements are made.
The pilgrims are hoping for swift intervention from the Centre and the Telangana government to resolve the situation and ensure their safe return home.
