Heavy Traffic on Hyderabad–Vijayawada Highway as People Return After Dasara

Hyderabad, October 21, The Freedom Press: Heavy traffic was seen on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway on Wednesday as people began returning to their workplaces and homes after the Dasara festival holidays.

Long queues of vehicles were witnessed at the toll plaza in Choutuppal, as a large number of commuters travelled towards Hyderabad after celebrating the festival in their native places. The increased movement of private cars and other vehicles led to congestion along the busy highway.

The post-festival rush was particularly visible at the toll plaza, where motorists had to move slowly through the queues. The highway connects Hyderabad with Vijayawada and several other towns, making it a major route for people travelling between the two cities.

Many families had travelled to their hometowns to celebrate Dasara with relatives and were returning as the festive break came to an end. The resulting increase in traffic added to the pressure on the highway.

Motorists travelling on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada route were advised to remain patient, maintain safe distances between vehicles and follow traffic regulations.

The traffic situation highlighted the annual increase in vehicular movement following major festivals, when thousands of people return to cities after spending time with their families in their native places. (eom)
