New Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS) Delhi-NCR is likely to witness mostly cloudy skies and intermittent spells of rain on Wednesday, with temperatures expected to remain moderate throughout the day. The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach nearly 32 degrees Celsius.
The weather is expected to remain unsettled across the National Capital Region, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms at several places. Commuters have been advised to remain cautious and be prepared for wet road conditions, particularly during periods of heavier rainfall. Weather activity is likely to continue over the coming days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi and adjoining areas may receive light to moderate rainfall, while isolated places could experience heavy showers. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely, particularly during the early morning hours and up to noon. Another spell of light rain may occur from the afternoon to evening.
On Tuesday, several parts of the region received rainfall after the IMD issued an orange alert for a number of areas, warning of more showers in the following hours. According to the IMD’s nowcast, Ghaziabad as well as Central, North and South Delhi were among the areas covered under the alert.
In Noida, residents woke up to cloudy skies and rainfall, with intermittent showers expected to continue through the day. The temperature is likely to touch around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may remain close to 25 degrees Celsius.
Gurugram is also likely to experience predominantly cloudy weather with occasional spells of rain. Light to moderate showers are expected in several areas, while isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Residents travelling for work, school or other activities have been advised to carry umbrellas and monitor local weather updates, especially during intense showers.
Ghaziabad is likely to remain cloudy and rainy, with showers expected during much of the day. Temperatures may range between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius, with occasional thundershowers also possible. The IMD forecast has indicated generally cloudy conditions with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Faridabad was experiencing rainfall and cloudy conditions, with more showers likely during the day. The weather was expected to remain humid, while the IMD has forecast one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. No specific warning has been issued for the city.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘satisfactory’ category. Monitoring stations recorded the following AQI levels: CRRI Mathura Road 98, Burari Crossing 106, North Campus DU 107, NSIT Dwarka 102, ITO 92, DTU 75, R K Puram 107, Ashok Vihar 111, Dwarka Sector 8 114, Jahangirpuri 111, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 80, Nehru Nagar 109, Wazirpur 182, Bawana 81, Alipur 100, IIT Delhi 118, JNU 69 and Commonwealth Sports Complex 83.
