Bihar: FIR against RJD MLA and two others in Siwan

Patna, April 16 (IANS) Tension has escalated in Bihar’s Siwan district following a land dispute in Jhunapur village under the Mahadeva police station.

An FIR has been registered against RJD MLA Osama Shahab, along with Sabir Miyan and Farhan Miyan, in connection with allegations of intimidation, vandalism, and assault.

The complaint was filed by Sudha Singh, who claims ownership of a plot of land (Account No. 82, Survey No. 941, measuring 11.904 decimals) in the Mahadeva area.

According to her, the dispute arose during construction on the site.

In her written complaint, Singh alleged that Osama Shahab contacted her, claiming that he also possessed a valid sale deed for the same land and asked her to review her documents.

She stated that although she shared the required documents, communication ceased thereafter.

The situation reportedly escalated when construction resumed.

Singh alleged that she received another call directing her to stop the work.

“When my husband questioned this, a group of 30-35 people arrived shortly after. They destroyed the CCTV cameras and carried out widespread vandalism at the site on April 14,” she stated.

The complainant further alleged that on April 14, 2026, a group of armed individuals reached the construction site and assaulted labourers present there, intensifying the dispute.

Sudha Singh, a resident originally from Gopalganj, maintains that she legally purchased the land on September 7, 2024, through a registered sale deed.

She has accused the named individuals of interfering with her lawful possession and construction activities.

Acting on her complaint, the Mahadeva Police have registered Case No. 73/26 and launched an investigation.

Confirming the development, Station In-charge Vineet Vinayak stated, “We have received a written complaint regarding vandalism. An FIR has been registered, and the matter is under investigation.”

Given the sensitivity and high-profile nature of the case, the Station In-Charge is personally supervising the probe.

Police officials have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
