Patna, July 28 (IANS) After the conclusion of campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President Chirag Paswan met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin at the latter’s residence in Patna on Tuesday evening.
According to sources, the two leaders reviewed the electoral scenario ahead of the July 30 polling. Neither leader addressed the media after the meeting, and the details of their discussions were not disclosed officially.
Earlier in the day, both Chirag Paswan and Nitin Nabin campaigned extensively for the NDA-backed BJP candidate, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, in the Bankipur constituency.
Chirag Paswan held roadshows and addressed a series of public meetings across the constituency. Speaking at a rally in Dujra locality, he appealed to voters to support the BJP candidate by pressing the button next to the Lotus symbol during polling on July 30.
“The enthusiasm, confidence, and overwhelming support shown by the people indicate that the resolve to make the Lotus bloom once again in Bankipur has become even stronger,” Paswan said.
Later, addressing another public meeting in Chandpur Bela, he reiterated his appeal to voters to support Neeraj Kumar Sinha. Appealing for a high voter turnout, he urged the electorate to participate enthusiastically in what he described as the festival of democracy.
“I appeal to all respected voters, especially women and youth, to cast their votes in large numbers. Every vote will strengthen the resolve to build a developed Bankipur and a developed Bihar under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary,” he added.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin also addressed campaign meetings in the constituency and expressed confidence about the NDA’s prospects.
“The enthusiasm shown by the people of Bankipur makes it clear that they stand firmly with the politics of development, good governance, and public service,” Nabin said while addressing a gathering.
“I am fully confident that the affection and blessings the people of Bankipur have always bestowed upon me will now be extended to Neeraj Kumar Sinha, who will continue this journey of public service and development with dedication,” Nabin said.
The Bankipur by-election was necessitated after Nitin Nabin resigned from the Assembly following his election to the Rajya Sabha.
Polling will be held on July 30, with the counting of votes scheduled for August 3.
