Asaduddin Owaisi Condemns Threat to Demolish Historic Huzra Kuwa Mosque in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 19; The Freedom Press: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned the alleged attempt to demolish Huzra Kuwa, a historic mosque located near the Race Course in Delhi.

Owaisi said the mosque, which is recorded in the 1977 Gazette, was being prevented from allowing people to offer namaz. He also alleged that the mosque’s caretaker had been threatened with demolition despite no official notice being issued.

Questioning the targeting of Muslim places of worship, Owaisi said his concerns over the possible misuse of the Waqf Amendment Act and the Places of Worship Act were proving to be justified.

He urged the government to withdraw what he described as illegal threats and issue a clear assurance that no action would be taken against the mosque.

Owaisi’s remarks have brought renewed attention to concerns over the protection of historic Muslim religious sites and the rights of worshippers. (eom)
