Kakinada, October 27: Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh are on alert as Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab approaches the state. The India Meteorological Department has warned of rough seas, strong winds and possible inundation of low-lying coastal areas, particularly around Kakinada and Yanam.
Uppada, a vulnerable coastal settlement in Kakinada district, faces the risk of seawater intrusion and coastal flooding. However, reports claiming that seawater is currently entering homes and residents are moving to safer locations could not be independently verified at the time of publication.
Residents have been advised to follow official warnings and evacuation instructions issued by the district administration.
