AIMIM Will Make Every Effort to Prevent BJP Government in UP: Assaduddin Owaisi

Kairana (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 25: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday said his party would make every effort to prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from forming the government in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a public meeting in Kairana in Shamli district, Owaisi said his party did not want Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to return to power for a third consecutive term. He said AIMIM was ready to join hands with other opposition parties if they shared the objective of preventing another BJP government in the state.

Owaisi also criticised opposition parties, alleging that they had failed to raise issues concerning minorities and other weaker sections of society.

He further alleged that mosque demolitions and so-called “half encounters” were continuing under the BJP-led government, while opposition parties were not adequately raising these issues.

The remarks come ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with political parties discussing possible alliances and strategies for the upcoming contest.
