TN polls: Stalin to launch fourth phase of campaign from Thanjavur on Friday

Chennai, April 8 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M. K. Stalin will launch the fourth phase of his Assembly election campaign from Thanjavur on Friday, intensifying outreach efforts in the Delta region.
A major public rally is scheduled in Thanjavur at 5 p.m., where Stalin will canvass votes for DMK and alliance candidates contesting in key constituencies, including Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur, Orathanadu, Pattukkottai, Peravurani, Papanasam, Thiruvidaimarudur and Kumbakonam.
Following the Thanjavur rally, he is scheduled to continue his campaign on April 11 with a public meeting in Pudukkottai at 4 p.m. He will campaign for candidates in Gandharvakottai, Viralimalai, Pudukkottai, Thirumayam, Alangudi and Aranthangi constituencies. Later that evening, he will address another rally in Tiruppattur district at 7 p.m., supporting candidates in Karaikudi, Tiruppattur, Sivaganga and Manamadurai.
On April 12, Stalin will hold a public meeting in Paramakudi at 4 p.m., canvassing votes in Paramakudi, Thiruvadanai, Ramanathapuram and Mudukulathur constituencies. He will then participate in an evening rally covering Vilathikulam, Thoothukudi, Tiruchendur, Srivaikuntam, Ottapidaram and Kovilpatti.
The fourth phase follows an extensive multi-stage campaign undertaken by Stalin across Tamil Nadu. He had launched his election campaign on March 31 from his hometown, Tiruvarur. After completing the second phase, he moved to the third phase in Puducherry earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Stalin addressed a public meeting in Sirkazhi in Mayiladuthurai district, rallying support for DMK and alliance candidates. He continued his campaign trail on Wednesday morning in Tiruvannamalai, engaging directly with voters.
Meanwhile, the DMK leadership has instructed party functionaries to avoid organising roadside events due to tight scheduling. Cadres have also been advised not to visit Stalin’s residence and instead attend campaign venues directly to ensure smooth coordination.
