Their welfare govt’s top priority: Amit Shah backs PM Modi’s ‘youth first’ message
New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of setting up fast-track courts to ensure speedy justice in the NEET paper leak case and said this step will prove to be a milestone in securing and safeguarding the future of students.
Home Minister said that the welfare and bright future of the country’s youth are both the top priority and a firm resolve of the government.
“The Prime Minister’s decision to establish fast-track courts – ensuring speedy trials and strict action against those guilty in paper leak cases – reflects this commitment,” he wrote in a post.
He further stated that the significant step undertaken against those who jeopardise the future of the youth through paper leaks will prove to be a milestone.
Earlier, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal supported the move for fast-tracking trials in paper leak cases.
Underscoring the youth as India’s “biggest asset”, he stated, “the fast-track courts will ensure that those involved in paper leaks are brought to justice. The government under PM Modi is committed to ensuring that youngsters inherit a promising future and have the opportunities to realise their aspirations.”
The NEET paper leaks and anger over a series of lapses impacting the lives of lakhs of students have snowballed into a national controversy, leading to a government-opposition showdown in Parliament as well as on the streets.
Earlier this morning, the Prime Minister announced the setting up of fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment to those involved in paper leaks.
“Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth,” he said in an emphatic post on X and added that those harming their future will not be spared.
“Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students,” he further wrote about ‘fast tracking’ justice in the case.
