Sainik Schools play a key role in nation-building: Arunachal Governor

New Delhi/Itanagar, May 24 (IANS) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd) said that Sainik Schools have played a transformative role in nation-building by nurturing generations of disciplined, patriotic and service-oriented youth across the country.
The Governor attended the Sainwinians’ Annual Meet at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
Alumni of Sainik School Rewa, including Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi, Lt Gen Dushyant Chauhan (Retd), and Air Marshal P. K. Roy (Retd) attended the meet amongst other.
The Arunachal Pradesh Governor, alumna and first batch of Sainik School Rewa, said that Sainik Schools have played a transformative role in nation-building by nurturing generations of disciplined, patriotic, and service-oriented youth.
He said that their emphasis on character, discipline, leadership, academic excellence, and national spirit has helped shape responsible citizens committed to the service of the nation.
Sainik Schools have consistently produced officers, administrators, professionals, and public servants who have contributed immensely to India’s growth and security, Lt Gen Parnaik (Retd) said.
The Governor said that the courage and professionalism displayed by India’s Armed Forces during operations such as ‘Operation Sindoor’ reflect the spirit of dedication, preparedness, and patriotism that institutions like Sainik Schools seek to cultivate among young minds.
He said that as India marches towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, Sainik Schools will remain vital institutions in building disciplined leadership, national unity, and a strong generation capable of safeguarding and advancing the nation’s future.
Sainik School Rewa, occupies a special place in India’s educational and military history. Since its establishment in 1962, the institution has produced distinguished alumni who have excelled in the Armed Forces, civil services, sports, and various fields of public life.
The meet was organised by Delhi NCR Chapter of Alumni of Sainik School Rewa.
