MP CM declares 2027 as ‘Year of Youth’, unveils major employment, development plans
Bhopal, Aug 15 (IANS) On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced that 2027 will be celebrated as the “Year of Youth” in the state, focusing on seven key areas — education, skill development, entrepreneurship, employment, startups, sports and leadership — to ensure the holistic development of the state’s young population.
Addressing a state-level event at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal after hoisting the national flag and taking the salute of the parade, the Chief Minister said the state government has already recruited more than 85,000 youth into government service.
“Going forward, more than one lakh young people will be provided employment opportunities in the public sector every year.”
The target is to enrol more than one lakh youth in ITIs next year and train 10,000 youth annually at the Global Skill Park, the Chief Minister added.
A separate placement cell will also be set up to coordinate between industries and job-seeking youth, CM Yadav said.
He noted that after observing 2025 as the ‘Year of Investment and Employment’ and 2026 as the ‘Year of Farmer Welfare’, the focus now shifts to empowering the next generation.
He announced the launch of the “Chief Minister’s Public Trust Campaign” on August 7, 2026, with the slogan “No Delay, No Distance”, aimed at resolving public grievances promptly.
The first phase will run until January 8, 2027.
Highlighting economic progress, CM Yadav said the state has presented a Rs 4.38 lakh crore budget for 2026-27, 10 per cent higher than the previous year, while per capita income has risen by nine per cent.
Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to implement a three-year rolling budget, he added.
Building on the Prime Minister’s “GYAN mantra”, the state has developed the “GYAN-II model” that integrates industry and infrastructure.
Key announcements included setting up an MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) park in every district and developing 10 new MSME clusters, establishing an engineering sector centre in Bhopal at a cost of Rs 30 crore, increasing startups to more than 12,000 and creating 100 new incubation centres.
From November 1, 2026, patient examinations will become completely paperless, with digital records and online specialist consultations.
One thousand new doctors have been appointed in the last three months, and another 1,000 will be recruited soon.
A second medical university will also be established.
For farmers, the Kavach Yojana has been implemented for financial security, and compensation for land acquisition has been raised to four times the standard rate.
Four fast-track courts will be set up for speedy disposal of competitive examination-related cases, while greater youth participation will be encouraged in drones, AI, semiconductors, space technology and green manufacturing.
