Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s mother Roopi Soren hospitalised in Ranchi

Ranchi, Sep 18 (IANS) Roopi Soren, the mother of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi on Friday after her health suddenly deteriorated.

She is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of a team of doctors at a private hospital in Ranchi.

According to hospital sources, Roopi Soren complained of breathing difficulties and was admitted to the hospital.

Medical examinations confirmed a chest infection, and doctors said her condition is currently stable and under control.

Sources said she has been facing health-related issues for some time and has been undergoing treatment. She had returned to Ranchi only two days ago after receiving medical treatment and undergoing health check-ups in Bengaluru.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren had accompanied her during the visit to Bengaluru.

After returning to Ranchi, her condition worsened on Friday. Family members rushed her to the hospital. She had reportedly been experiencing breathing difficulties since Thursday evening, which intensified on Friday. Doctors immediately began treatment upon her admission and have kept her under close observation.

No detailed statement has been issued by the family regarding her health condition so far. Hospital authorities said her treatment is continuing and that her health is being closely monitored. Further details are expected through subsequent medical updates.

Roopi Soren is the wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha founder Shibu Soren, who died on August 4 last year.

She had received the Padma Bhushan award posthumously on behalf of her husband in recognition of his public service and contribution to public affairs.

Following reports of Roopi Soren’s hospitalisation, family members, well-wishers and supporters have wished her a speedy recovery.

Hospital management has reiterated that her condition remains stable and she is under continuous medical care.
