Aaditi Pohankar: I never change the lines given by writers

Mumbai, March 29 (IANS) Actress Aaditi Pohankar believes in maintaining the sanctity of the script. The actress, who shot to fame with her character in the hit streaming show ‘Aashram’, has said that the improvises only on the emotions of her character should a need arise.
The actress spoke with IANS about her process of approaching a part, and sticking by the script. She said that she doesn’t even change the words in her lines. The reason behind the same is that her own sister is a writer so, the actress has the sense of what goes on a writers’ minds when they write a dialogue, and how they intend the actor to speak those lines.
The actress told IANS, “Everything is there in the script. I, in fact, don’t even move words from the scene. If I am told that I have to improvise, then I improvise with emotion. I never improvise with lines. Because my sister is a writer, I have seen her. So if something is written, it is written for a reason. It’s not just written. And even if it changes, even then I feel that the flow of emotion may break. This is just my opinion. I am sure people do it in many ways”.
She said that for an actor there are many ways to switch between the emotions, as she shared, “If you go from fear to laughter, if you go from fear to laughter, there are many ways to do it. And that’s what I do. And what happens with that is I see every script as an exercise. Because it teaches me more”.
“So it’s like, the show is going on, the scenes are going on, I am also moving forward as an actor. To learn from Prakash sir and Bobby sir is such an advantage because their years of experience becomes my experience. So I am automatically stealing a lot from them”, she added.
