Britney Spears is not too keen on Millie Bobby Brown essaying her in biopic
Los Angeles, March 2 (IANS) Pop icon Britney Spears is not in favour of actress Millie Bobby Brown essaying her in her upcoming biopic despite the actress’ clear enthusiasm.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star, 21, has long been vocal on how much she wants to portray the pop icon yet it has been no easy feat, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
Millie recently changed up her entire look and has even enlisted the help of her famous father-in-law to secure the role.
However, it seems the biggest hurdle is Britney herself, who is reportedly unconvinced Millie has what it takes.
As per ‘Mirror.co.uk’, Millie once described playing Britney as her “dream role”, with the comment coming before the tell-all biopic was even announced.
The ‘Hit Me Baby. One More Time’ hitmaker’s film will be based on her best-selling book, ‘The Woman In Me’. Millie shot to fame when she was just 12-years-old in the hit Netflix series. The singer-songwriter is said to not be on board with Millie playing her, while the young actress “believes she was born for this role”.
“Millie Bobby Brown is so desperate to play Britney that those close to her feel it has become her life mission right now”, a source said.
However, it all boils down to Britney’s decision as the source claimed to the Daily Mail, “She doesn’t see the resemblance”.
Millie still hasn’t been deterred and reportedly is doing everything in her power to convince Britney she is the right woman for the job. Last month, Millie debuted a brand new look as she dyed her dark locks platinum blonde and has been rocking 2000s inspired looks with a striking similarity to Britney.
Millie has also used her father-in-law Jon Bon Jovi’s extensive connections, as per the source.
“She has been trying to leverage connections through her well-connected father-in-law in a bid to land the role that she has dreamed of long before a biopic was even announced”, they added.
However, the source claimed the casting process has been “going on for months” and if Millie was “the perfect choice, they would have cast her by now”. They explained no matter how much Millie can look like Britney, the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker will “make the final call”.
Last month, Millie shocked fans with her makeover that left her almost unrecognisable. She looked incredible in a black midi dress as fans drew comparisons with Pamela Anderson, Barbie and Britney.
