First meeting of BJP’s newly appointed state in-charges, co-in-charges underway

New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) A key meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state in-charges and co-in-charges commenced at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday under the chairmanship of BJP National President Nitin Nabin.

Around 65 state in-charges and co-in-charges are participating in the meeting. The discussion is expected to be focused on organisational expansion, upcoming challenges and various issues currently being discussed in the country.

Apart from Nabin, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh, Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Smriti Irani, Biplab Deb, Harish Dwivedi, Sanjay Bhatia, Satish Poonia and Gajendra Patel, among other senior leaders, are present at the meeting.

According to sources, the meeting is also expected to chalk out the party’s strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

The organisational preparedness in both states is likely to be reviewed, along with the party’s election-related programmes and activities.

The BJP is also expected to discuss the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.

The campaign’s ongoing activities and further organisational programmes are likely to be reviewed during the meeting.

The state in-charges and co-in-charges are expected to provide updates on the organisational situation in their respective states and discuss plans to strengthen the party network at the grassroots level.

The meeting is also likely to deliberate on upcoming organisational programmes and challenges before the party, as well as various national issues currently being discussed across the country.

The gathering will provide the newly appointed functionaries an opportunity to receive guidance from the central leadership and present their strategies for strengthening the party’s presence in their respective states and Union Territories.

The meeting assumes significance as it marks the first collective interaction of the newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges following the organisational reshuffle announced earlier this month.
