Delhi: Murder case solved within hours in Anand Parbat area; one held, two juveniles apprehended

New Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS) A murder case in Delhi’s Anand Parbat area was worked out within seven hours, with the arrest of a 19-year-old man and apprehension of two juveniles, aged 17 and 15, police said on Wednesday.

The police also recovered the knife used in the crime. According to police, a PCR call was received at around 8:30 PM on September 22, regarding the stabbing of a person in Anand Parbat area. A police team immediately reached Gali No. 16 on Than Singh Road, where the incident had reportedly taken place.

The crime scene was inspected by the Crime Team. The victim, a 17-year-old boy identified as K, a resident of Anand Parbat, was found injured at the spot. He was rushed to Jeevan Mala Hospital by Constable Rajesh, along with members of the public. However, doctors declared him brought dead.

During the preliminary inquiry, police learnt that the victim had allegedly been stabbed by three persons.

The police team analysed CCTV footage from the area and conducted technical surveillance and gathered local intelligence to identify the suspects.

Based on the CCTV footage, technical inputs and information gathered locally, the three persons allegedly involved in the incident were identified. They were subsequently apprehended from the Anand Parbat area.

The accused were identified as Tushar, 19, a resident of Anand Parbat, and two juveniles aged 17 and 15. Police said the knife used in the crime was also recovered at the instance of the accused persons.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that they were walking through Gali No. 16 on Than Singh Road when the victim was approaching from the opposite direction.

According to the police, the two groups accidentally collided while passing each other, leading to an altercation. The argument subsequently escalated, during which all three accused persons allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife before fleeing the spot.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
