BJP chief chairs meeting of new office-bearers to deliberate roadmap for ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) A meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) newly appointed national office-bearers is underway on Sunday with President Nitin Nabin at the helm. The meeting, to discuss the party’s upcoming organisational programmes and to deliberate a roadmap for ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, is also being attended by its state in-charges and state presidents.

Several senior leaders, including new national office-bearers and state presidents, are attending the meeting, being chaired by the party chief.

Senior BJP leaders and the party’s newly appointed National General Secretaries Smriti Irani, Vinod Tawde and Biplab Deb are present.

Punjab BJP in-charge Satish Poonia, state BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, party’s National Vice President Lal Singh Arya, BJP National office-in-charge and MP Tarun Chugh, and National Secretary Sandeep Pathak also arrived for the meeting.

BJP National Vice-Presidents Vasundhara Raje, Tirath Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary are also in attendance.

Other office-bearers, including Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President Hemang Joshi and BJP Treasurer and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, are also attending the meeting being chaired by BJP chief Nabin.

According to official sources, a significant agenda of the meeting is to discuss the roadmap for the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign) under the ‘Modi @25’ initiative.

The meeting is being held at the party’s central headquarters extension wing on Deendayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg in New Delhi, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2023.

A day before, the BJP passed a resolution strongly defending the honour, dignity and historical legacy of the national song Vande Mataram and condemned the Congress Working Committee’s (CWC) decision to continue restricting its rendition at party programmes to only the first two stanzas, during the first meeting of the party’s new national office-bearers at party headquarters.

Later on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi met the newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters, describing organisational meetings as an opportunity for “new ideas and perspectives” aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connect with the people.

Sharing photos of the meeting on social media platform X, PM Modi said: “Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!”

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be organised by the party from September 17 to October 17 to commemorate the completion of 25 years of PM Modi in public life as head of the government.
