Illegal Firecracker Factory Busted in Virar, 17 Workers Found During Police Raid

Virar (Maharashtra) Nov 06: The Crime Branch has busted an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit operating in a residential area of Virar, raising serious concerns over public safety. During the raid, police found 17 workers engaged in manufacturing firecrackers inside the building.
The factory was reportedly operating above a firecracker shop on Chandan Sar Road in Virar East. Police seized explosive chemicals, raw materials and other items worth approximately ₹12.98 lakh.
The illegal manufacturing unit posed a significant threat to residents living in the densely populated locality, as any accidental fire or explosion could have resulted in a major tragedy.
Police have registered a case against three persons at Virar Police Station. Further investigation is underway to establish the extent of the operation and identify those involved in the illegal manufacturing and distribution of firecrackers.
