Hyderabad Nov 06: The Future City Commissionerate Special Operations Team (SOT) of Maheshwaram busted an adulterated milk manufacturing unit at Pocharam in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Rangareddy district and arrested a 43-year-old milk trader in connection with the racket.
The accused, identified Srisailam, was allegedly manufacturing adulterated milk by mixing hydrogen peroxide and Dholpur milk powder. The adulterated milk was reportedly being supplied to consumers in many localities of the Hyderabad.
The Maheshwaram SOT police conducted a raid on the unit and seized around100 litres of adulterated milk, one litre of hydrogen peroxide and 35 one-kg packets of Dholpur milk powder. The materials allegedly used in the preparation of adulterated milk were also seized.
The accused was taken into custody, and police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the extent of the operation, trace the supply network and identify the number of consumers who may have received the adulterated milk.
