Bihar: BPSC accuses coaching institutes of spreading ‘propaganda’ amid protests
Patna, Feb 18 (IANS) As protests over the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination resumed in Patna on Monday, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has hit back, alleging that some coaching institutes are misleading students on social media.
BPSC has urged aspirants not to fall for propaganda and instead focus on preparing for the main examination.
The commission alleged that certain coaching centres are fuelling the agitation for their own interests.
Despite protests, BPSC has already declared the prelims results, and the process for the mains exam is underway.
A group of agitating candidates, backed by well-known coaching teachers like Khan Sir and Guru Rahman, are demanding a re-examination of the preliminary test.
Khan Sir insists that he has solid evidence of exam irregularities, which he will present before the Patna High Court in the ongoing hearing.
As protests continue over the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has strongly denied allegations of question paper changes and theft at exam centres.
According to BPSC, some coaching operators are allegedly spreading misinformation through interviews on social media, claiming that question papers were changed during the exam at multiple centres, especially in Khagaria and Bhagalpur.
Question papers were stolen or disappeared from the treasuries in Nawada and Gaya districts. The commission has completely denied these allegations, calling them “baseless and misleading.”
It accused certain elements of trying to confuse candidates with false claims since the beginning of the exam process. BPSC urged aspirants to ignore social media rumours and rely only on official updates from the commission’s website.
Despite BPSC’s denial, protestors led by Khan Sir and other coaching teachers continue to demand a re-examination, citing exam rigging and irregularities.
The matter is currently under review in the Patna High Court.
