Make report on Ram temple donation theft public, demands Owaisi

Hyderabad, Sep 3 (IANS) AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday questioned why the SIT report on the Ayodhya Ram temple donation theft was not made public, noting that people were angry as their faith had been mocked.

On the appointment of Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (retd) as the first CEO of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Owaisi asked: “The appointments that were made earlier- who made them? The government made them, right? You brought it to Parliament and made appointments to the trust. Even after that, theft worth crores of rupees took place. The people are angry today because their faith has been mocked. You can appoint whoever you want; you are the government,” he said.

The MP, however, said people want to know who committed the theft. “An FIR has been filed, and you also have a report. So why isn’t that report being made public? You mocked the public’s devotion, and in the name of faith, you garnered votes and power, while all these people looted everything there,” he said.

On the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Telangana, Owaisi said SIR notices are being issued to voters over mapping anomalies, including cases involving more than six progeny mappings.

He urged those receiving notices to attend hearings with Aadhaar and other documents. The MP also flagged complaints of voters being wrongly marked as ‘dead’ or ‘shifted’ despite being alive and present at their registered addresses.

“Notices are being issued to voters whose names have appeared in the list of anomalies and whose mapping has not been completed. We are appealing to the public that individuals, women, and young men and women who are receiving notices should immediately appear for the hearing and bring their Aadhaar cards and other relevant documents with them,” he said.
