Centre puts up prime RINL land plots in Vizag for sale via e-auction

New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) has announced the e-auction of strategically located land assets owned by government-run steel company Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) at Visakhapatnam on the Andhra Pradesh coast.
“A total portfolio of 459 land parcels spanning 93,572.21 square yards is being offered for outright sale with clear, encumbrance-free government titles. Individual plots range in size from approximately 128.94 square yards to 2,728 square yards. Quikr India Pvt. Ltd. (QIPL) has been appointed as the Transaction Consultant to facilitate the auction process,” a Finance Ministry statement issued on Tuesday said.
The strategically located land portfolio includes 456 residential MIG/LIG plots situated in an established urban neighbourhood at HB Colony, Maddilapalem, equipped with complete civic and social infrastructure. The properties feature 24- to 60-foot concrete approach roads and direct proximity to National Highway 16 (NH-16).
Besides, a prime 2,728-square-yard contiguous parcel in Block 2 at Auto Nagar, Gajuwaka, located 0.5 km from NH-16, tailored for commercial and logistics use, alongside two residential plots in Block 3, is also on the auction list.
The competitive bidding process will be hosted on the RailTel E-Nivida e-Procurement Platform across two scheduled dates: October 12 and October 16, the statement said.
To participate, prospective bidders must complete online registration, KYC verification, and submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) fixed at Rs 2 lakh per plot through the official portal within the prescribed timelines.

This initiative aligns with NLMC’s core mandate to monetise surplus land and non-core assets held by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and government agencies through a structured and transparent framework. The digitally enabled bidding process provides eligible investors, developers, and individual participants a secure opportunity to acquire assets in prime, established areas of Visakhapatnam, the statement said.
NLMC is a 100 per cent Government of India-owned company under the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, established to execute the monetisation of surplus land and non-core assets of CPSEs and government entities.
RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise operating under the Ministry of Steel.
