Zaan Khan on how social media influences relationships and emotions

Mumbai, Aug 23 (IANS) Television actor Zaan Khan reflected on how social media influences relationships and emotions in today’s day and age.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Zaan pointed out that a lot of what is seen on social media is not always true.

He was asked, “In the age of social media, relationships and emotions are often influenced by what people see online. Does that have any impact on the show?”

Reacting to this, Zaan, who is a part of the show, ‘Dil Se Deewangi Tak’, shared, “This is a fiction show. It is not reality. It has a completely different flavour. Social media relationships are different. A lot of things today are very Instagram-centric, and they are not necessarily true.”

“More than half of our lives are spent on Instagram. You read quotes written by random people, even though those experiences may never have happened to them. They write these things for views and fandom. Then you read them and start relating them to your own life. I think that can be one of the most foolish things to do. All of us are going through hardships in our lives, but I don’t relate myself to Instagram, its quotes or the so-called knowledge you find there. It is all very temporary”, Zaan explained.

Revealing what made him connect to the story of ‘Dil Se Deewangi Tak’, Zaan added, “I was most interested because it is a love triangle between Abir, Sia and Jahan. I am playing Jahan in the show, who is a very unpredictable character. He is someone I have never played before. He is royal and ruthless. I really like the character.”

He shared that the show has a very intense love story.

“Right now, it is India’s number one vertical show. It is a long-running vertical show that is doing extremely well across platforms. We have crossed a huge number of views, and the show comes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the All Right TV app. I am really happy to be associated with this project and am looking forward to all the new surprises”, he concluded.
