UP leaders pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary

Lucknow, Aug 16 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP state president, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, the party’s general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak on Sunday paid heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, remembering his contribution to the nation and public life.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Vajpayee as a towering figure of nationalism, democratic values and ideal politics.
“On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee, revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, a towering figure of nationalism, democratic values and ideal politics, I pay my humble tribute,” Yogi said.
He said Vajpayee established high standards of integrity in Indian democracy, ethics in politics and dedication to national service through his powerful thoughts, dignified conduct and committed life.
“His entire life is a living example of the spirit of ‘Nation First’. His unwavering resolve towards national progress continues to inspire every citizen even today to relentlessly work towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” the Chief Minister said.
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary remembered Vajpayee by quoting lines from the former Prime Minister’s poetry: “I will not accept defeat, nor will I pick a quarrel… I write and erase on the forehead of time, I sing a new song.”
Paying tribute to Vajpayee, Chaudhary said his visionary leadership and powerful ideas had taken Indian politics to new heights. He added that Vajpayee’s life, dedicated to the service of the nation, would remain a source of inspiration.
UP BJP general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh described Vajpayee as a symbol of unwavering patriotism, effective leadership and ideal politics. He said the former Prime Minister gave the highest importance to democratic values and political integrity throughout his public life.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya remembered Vajpayee as an “Ajatshatru” of Indian politics, an inspiring poet and a former Prime Minister.
“Firmness in thought, humility in conduct and national interest in decisions, these were the distinctive hallmarks of revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji’s public life,” Maurya said.
He said Vajpayee demonstrated that effective leadership could be provided through a combination of strong principles and democratic consensus. Maurya also highlighted Vajpayee’s contribution to strengthening India’s strategic capabilities through the historic Pokhran decision and laying a strong foundation for modern infrastructure.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak described Vajpayee as a statesman of his era, a guide for countless party workers and a source of inspiration for the people of India.
“His life is an unparalleled example of the spirit of ‘Nation First’ and dedication to the service of India,” Pathak said.
The leaders said Vajpayee’s vision, commitment to public service, democratic values and dedication to the nation would continue to inspire future generations.
