Greater Noida: Man found dead inside Scorpio, country-made pistol recovered

Noida, July 13 (IANS) A wave of panic gripped the Surajpur area in Greater Noida as the police recovered a dead body from inside a Scorpio car, parked on the service road of Delta-3 O-Block on Sunday night.
The blood-soaked body of a young man, along with a country-made pistol, was recovered from the spot, said officials.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation and considering all aspects of the probe without ruling out the suicide or murder angle. According to the police, the local police’s ‘Leopard’ team was on routine patrol in the Surajpur area when it spotted the stationary Scorpio and the dead body inside.
The ‘Leopard’ team was moving from Sai Mandir roundabout towards the Delta-3 O-Block intersection when they spotted a Scorpio-N car parked suspiciously on the side of the service road. The car’s front and rear lights were on, which aroused the officers’ suspicion.
The Leopard team initially called out to the driver to move the vehicle, but there was no response from inside. When the officers approached the car and looked inside, they saw blood flowing from the body of the person seated in the driver’s seat.
A country-made pistol was also found lying nearby.
Given the gravity of the situation, the police summoned the forensic team for an on-the-spot examination.
The man was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead after examination.
The deceased was identified as Sauraj. Hailing from Jumarthpur village in Delhi, he was currently living in Migsun Green Society in Greater Noida.
The man is believed to be 36 years old. His body was sent for post-mortem examination after conducting the initial proceedings.
The forensic team conducted a detailed examination to gather scientific evidence from the scene.
The exact cause of death will be ascertained based on the post-mortem report.
The Surajpur police state that the matter is being investigated from every angle. Whether this is a case of suicide, murder, or something else will only be revealed once the investigation and forensic reports are available.
In addition to the examination of footage from the nearby CCTV cameras, the police are scrutinising the deceased’s call details as well as their family and social connections.
