From nation first to nation building: Modi govt showcases 12-Year journey

New Delhi, June 9 (IANS) Marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a nationwide outreach campaign to showcase the government’s major achievements, reforms, and welfare initiatives over the past decade.
The campaign is being conducted under the theme ‘12 Saal Vishwas Ke, Vikas Ke, Jan-Kalyan Ke’ (12 Years: Of Trust, Development and Public Welfare). This reflects the government’s emphasis on inclusive growth, national development and citizen welfare. The government has released five specially curated booklets in Hindi, English, Urdu and several other Indian languages showcasing the Modi dispensation’s 12-Year journey. This stuff is basically meant for presenting a comprehensive account of its journey.
These booklets, together, showcase the government’s major policy decisions, focusing on infrastructure expansion, social welfare programmes, and other efforts aimed at nation-building. No doubt, the efforts of the Modi government over the last 12 years have shaped India’s development trajectory, say analysts, referring to these booklets.
Rashtra Pratham: Nation First as the Core Mantra
The booklet, “Rashtra Pratham” (Nation First), spotlights landmark decisions and various initiatives, mainly focusing on the national interest. This booklet highlights measures taken to strengthen India’s national security, strategic capabilities, and global standing.
It highlights important military achievements, including surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor. It also outlines various welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens across socio-economic groups. The booklet stresses the government’s commitment to putting national interests at the forefront of governance and policymaking.
Nation Building is the Mission
The booklet, “Nation Building is the Mission”, deals with the government’s vision of a modern, self-confident and globally competitive India. It brings to the public domain key achievements under various topics and themes.
The themes highlighted are New Economy, New India, New Confidence, Building World-Class Infrastructure for India, Technological Transformation Reaching Every Person, Ease of Doing Business: Simplifying Trade for All, Ease of Living: Simpler Lives, Empowered Citizens and Northeast India: Driving India’s Development.
The publication details major economic reforms, digital transformation initiatives, infrastructure projects and efforts to ensure balanced regional development across the country.
From Empowerment to Prosperity
The booklet, “Sashaktikaran Se Samriddhi Tak” (From Empowerment to Prosperity), is quite important. The key focus of this booklet is on women-centric policies and programmes implemented during the Modi government’s tenure so far.
Initiatives aimed at enhancing women’s participation in education, entrepreneurship, governance, and the workforce have also been comprehensively highlighted. Efforts to promote economic independence, leadership opportunities and self-reliance among women have also been mentioned. That women are key contributors to India’s growth story has also been highlighted.
Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi
The booklet, “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi” (Heritage Alongside Development), spotlights the government’s approach of balancing rapid modernisation with the preservation of India’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage.
The booklet showcases initiatives undertaken to restore, preserve and promote historical sites, cultural traditions and spiritual centres. Simultaneous focus has been there on advancing infrastructure, technology and urban development projects across the country.
Rashtra Nirman: Infrastructure-led Growth
The booklet “Rashtra Nirman” (Nation Building) presents a detailed account of the government’s infrastructure push over the past 12 years.
Major projects across sectors such as roads, railways, airports, ports, energy, housing and digital connectivity have been comprehensively highlighted in this booklet. The publication explains how infrastructure development has been positioned as a key driver of economic growth, employment generation and improved quality of life for citizens.
Meanwhile, a key theme running through the campaign is the government’s commitment to public service and inclusive development. The outreach material highlights initiatives focused on poverty alleviation, farmers’ welfare, support for the middle class and healthcare expansion under the vision of a “Healthy India, Strong India.”
