According to the government, the Ladli Behna Yojana has emerged as a major welfare scheme aimed at economic empowerment, self-reliance and dignity of women in Madhya Pradesh.
The scheme was launched in June 2023 and has completed 35 monthly instalments till April 2026.
“Between June 2023 and April 2026, a total of Rs 55,926.51 crore has been transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT),” the government stated in a statement issued on Monday.
Initially, eligible women received Rs 1,000 per month under the scheme. The amount was increased to Rs 1,250 in October 2023 and later raised to Rs 1,500 per month from November 2025.

It added that many beneficiaries have joined Self-Help Groups, started small businesses and taken up self-employment activities.
Officials also stated that the direct transfer system has encouraged financial inclusion and improved banking awareness among rural, tribal and urban women, including widows, divorced and abandoned women.
