Hyderabad, Feb 5: World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.
The World Cancer Day 2022 campaign theme, Close the care gap, is about identifying and addressing the barriers that exist for many people around the world in accessing the care they need.
In order to raise awareness on the importance of World Cancer Day, CARE Hospitals, Nampally organized an awareness program in hospital premises & felicitated cancer survivors.
Highlighting the importance of cancer awareness, HCOO -CARE Hospitals Nampally Syed Kamran Husain said the incidence of cancer is increasing owing to unhealthy lifestyle and excessive use of tobacco. Recent analysis has shown that Hyderabad has the highest incidence of breast cancer in the country. With this, there is a growing need for improving awareness about early detection and treatment for cancer. Because of research and development in medical practice, many new treatment options are now available that are improving the outcomes.
