Hyderabad, July 7: While the final year degree students write fifth-semester examinations this week, Osmania University (OU) on Wednesday has decided to conduct the sixth-semester exams from 27th this month.
The announcement came as the University informed that the scheduled 3rd and 5th semester UG degree courses examinations are being held from Thursday, July 8 with no change in the schedule amid protests for deferment.
The examinations for III and V Semesters are scheduled daily to save the number of days to conduct examinations since the same V Semester students have to appear for VI Semester examinations, the varsity informed in its press note.
This arrangement is made in the interest of students to save the academic year to enable them to go for higher studies/employment, it added.
The ensuing 6th-semester exams are scheduled just 14-days after the ongoing 5th-semester examinations to end on July 12th.
The final timetable for 1st and 6th-semester degree examinations which are tentatively scheduled from July 27th will be released soon on OU’s official website.
However, as a relief to the students, the OU is giving a one-day gap between examinations, the press note added.
It was also informed that the upcoming 1st and 6th-semester examinations will be held at self-centers.
Meanwhile, just as last year, the duration of examination has been reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours; accordingly the question paper pattern has also been changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic as a measure for the academic year 2020-21.
The University asked the students to cooperate in the smooth conduct of examinations and early publication of the results to enable them to go for higher studies.
