Telangana Govt distributes 106 cars to Driver Empowerment Programme beneficiaries

Hyderabad, July 3: Telangana Ministers Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Koppula Eshwar on Saturday handed over 106 cabs to the beneficiaries of the State Government’s Driver Empowerment Programme.

The Telangana Government through Driver Empowerment Programme provides financial assistance to select applicants for vehicle purchase and help them become independent driver cum owner.

The Minorities Welfare Department under the State Government on Saturday distributed 106 Maruti Swift Dzire Tour-S vehicles to the selected candidates by the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation (TSMFC) at Hajj House, Nampally here in Hyderabad.

Nampally MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj, Advisor to the Government (Minority Affairs) AK Khan, State Waqf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem, MLC Mirza Riyaz Ul Effendi, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Mahmood Ali asserted that the Telangana government have introduced and successfully implemented various schemes for the welfare and upliftment of the minorities in the state.

Mahmood Ali said that the Driver Empowerment Programme is helping the unemployed youth to be financially viable and improve their family living conditions. He said that the beneficiary drivers do not have to pay any kind of instalment money in advance.

He also recalled that the Government is giving an honorarium of Rs 5,000 per month to over 10,000 Imams and Muezzins and said, “Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is moving forward with TRS party’s commitment towards the security, welfare and integration of minorities in the state.

Telangana Minority Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar, who also spoke on the occasion, said that religious harmony prevails in the administration of the TRS party and Chief Minister KCR who is a great secularist

He said that due to the welfare schemes implemented by Chief Minister KCR, religious harmony is emerging in the state if Telangana. “People from all walks of life, including minorities, are happy with the TRS-KCR administration.”
