Hyderabad, July 2: Six deaths and 848 fresh COVID-19 cases were recorded in Telangana on Saturday. This takes the death toll to 3,684 and the cumulative count of positive cases to 6,26,085.
A total of 1,114 patients were reported cured of the disease during the last 24 hours ending 17.30 hours on Saturday, which brings the recoveries to 6,09,947, the state Medical department said in its bulletin here.
After the recent developments, the state now has 12,454 active cases, as the state tested 1,08,954 samples during the last 24 hours. With this, the state has so far tested 1,89,94,601 samples.
The state has also reached 5.10 lakh samples testing per million population, the bulletin said.
The state capital, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 98 fresh cases reported the most number of cases during the day. While neighboring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 45 cases, Rangareddy recorded 42, and Sangareddy 11 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of active micro containment zones in the state came down to 54 in ten districts. Of these, the highest number of 18 zones are in Mahbubabad district, 14 in Bhadaradri Kothagudem district, 5 each in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Siddipet districts. While remaining six districts has less than 5 zones.
The case fatality rate (CFR) in the state stands at 0.58 percent against the national average of 1.3 percent. While the state’s recovery rate improved to 97.42 percent.
