Hyderabad, June 16: Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Wednesday said that the Telangana State Police is at the forefront in social services apart from its duties, and added that with such social services, the Telangana Police has made a special place across the country.
Mahmood Ali along with Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the newly constructed building of Sanjeeva Reddy (SR) Nagar Police Station building.
The new four-storey SR Nagar Police Station building is constructed on 15,000 square feet of land at cost of Rs 4.26 crores. The building is equipped with modern technology and facilities
Speaking on the occasion, the Ministers stressed that since the formation of Telangana State, the State Government has been giving importance to the police department and added that the Government has allocated Rs 700 crore to the Police Department in the 2020-21 annual budget.
The Home Minister asserted that Police Stations across the state are being revamped and integrated with well-equipped modern-day technology to help the department solve public issues in record time.
Recalling that Hyderabad is ranked 16th in the world in the installation of CCTV cameras, He said that Telangana State with most number of CCTV cameras is at the forefront among other states across the country.
Mahmood Ali further praised the Telangana police for taking necessary action within minutes of the complaint from ‘Dial 100’. He also said that the law and order situation in the state is peaceful as no major riots or nexus have been witnessed.
He further stressed that the safety and security of women in the state are of paramount importance, which is why ‘SHE teams’ were formed to provide immediate solutions to their problems and provide security and added, the best results of which are coming to light.
He then congratulated the DGP M. Mahendra Reddy IPS, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar IPS, and his entire team for the excellent construction of the modern building of SR Police Station and expressed his best wishes.
