Telangana Agriculture Secretary visits flood-affected fields

Hyderabad, Oct 19: Telangana Agriculture Secretary Dr B Janardhan Reddy on Monday visited farmers’ fields along with concerned RDO & Extension staff in the villages of Raviryal and Nagaram in Maheshwaram Mandal of Ranga Reddy District which were very badly affected due to heavy rains recently.

In Raviryal village about 300 Acres of Paddy belonging to 314 farmers (which is under different stages like grain filling and grain hardening) is submerged for the last six days under Raviryala Cheruvu and even sand casting is also noticed in certain fields.

In Nagaram village about 100 Acres of Paddy crop belonging to 139 farmers lodging is noticed and about 15 Acres are submerged under Enugu Chervu. Cotton crop is in a square formation to boll bursting and 1 st picking stages and Redgram is in Vegetative to flowering stages, an official press release here said.
