Hyderabad, Oct 17: An army officer from Telangana, Mohammed Shakir Hussain of 11th Regiment posted in Ladakh died in an unfortunate accident.

The army officer, who hails from Kagaznagar of Telangana’s Komaram Bheem district, was recruited in the year 2001.

The grieving family of the officer, however, were taken aback when the army officials denied sending the dead body of the deceased to his hometown.

In a video, parents and wife of the officers alleged that the Army officials had refused to send the body claiming that the officer was positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The parents questioned the army authorities that how come an officer tested positive for Covid-19 was sent on duty, instead of being in quarantine.

The proud-family demanded that the body of their son be sent back to his home where the last rites of the deceased would be carried out.

They urged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali to intervene and solve the matter.
