Telangana Ministers, Hyderabad MP, MLAs visit flood-hit area

Hyderabad, Oct 14: As the heavy rains lashed the city of Hyderabad submerging most of the low lying areas, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders, members and workers including parliamentarian, legislators, corporators are all on field since Tuesday evening addressing and solving waterlogging and other issues of the common people under their respective constituencies.
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi along with Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister KT Rama Rao, Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and AIMIM Floor Leader in the Assembly, Chandrayangutta MLA Akberuddin Owaisi on Wednesday inspected flood hit localities of Old City.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials were also present during the inspections. The leaders discussed steps to be taken towards solving the issue whilst ensuring that steps are being taken to provide relief to the residents of these localities, who were rescued and shifted to temporary camps at community halls, and other institutional premises.
Asaduddin Owaisi has been on inspection drive since the situation deteriorated in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency. He inspected Moosarambagh Nala near Malakpet Assembly Constituency with the ministers on Wednesday.
He also inspected various areas late at intervening Wednesday night. He monitored the rescue operation in Mohammedia Hills, Bandlaguda where a boundary wall fell resulting in the death of nine people and injuring two. He visited other affected and submerged areas including Talab Katta, Yesrab Nagar of Charminar and other areas of Karwan.
Akbaruddin Owaisi has also been inspecting flood hit localities under Chandrayangutta Constituency. He took various steps to divert water towards the exit ensuring that no further localities are flooded.
Earlier, he also visited the injured of a boundary wall falling-incident in Mohammedia Hills, Bandlaguda. He expressed condolences to the family who lost nine lives in the incident and extended full support to the family.
Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin along with Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty visited and inspected Balreddy Nagar, Shahtam Talab, Nadeem Colony and other flood hits areas across Karwan Constituency.
Earlier, the MLA along-with Khairtabad GHMC Zonal Commissioner, P. Pravinya, IAS also inspected these areas which were drowned out under the constituency. GHMC and DRF teams were put on works to clear the water logging points on high priority.
As few gates of the Himayath Sagar reservoir were opened following heavy inflow, Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala promptly visited several localities under various divisions of Malakpet Constituency and addressed public issues.
Accompanied by party’ corporators, DRF team, GHMC, HMWS&SB, TSSPDCL and police officials, the MLA supervised evacuation operations in the majorly affected Moosa Nagar, Kamal Nagar, Rasoolpura areas and distributions of food packs to the residents.
Party’s General Secretary and Yakutpura MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri accompanied by Pathergatti Corporator Syed Sohail Quadri inspected areas facing water logging problem under the Charminar Constituency.
The MLA also distributed food packets among the residents of the flood-hit localities and undertook necessary steps to solve the problems being faced by the people.
Nampally MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj along with GHMC officials conducted inspections of most affected localities such as Osman Peti, First Lancer, Dargah Ahmed Badepa and surrounding areas under Ahmednagar Division of the Constituency.
Meanwhile, Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Moazam Khan, along with Bandlaguda MRO, GHMC and DRF teams reviewed the rescue and relief works of Al-Jubail Colony, Falaknuma which has been severely affected and submerged with floods.
The residents Al-Jubail Colony and surrounding localities were evacuated to safer places and provided with necessary materials.
Yakutpura MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan also took necessary steps to solve the problems being faced by the people due to waterlogging in various areas of the Constituency. He also ensured distributions of food packs to the residents in the affected areas.
