Hyderabad, Oct 7: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) on Wednesday demanded CBI inquiry in Moinabad’s rape and murder case of a minor.

Writing to Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, MBT Spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan asserted that Cyberabad police is investigating the said case as abetment to sucide and not as a murder.

He said that the said case is being overlooked by mainstream media and leaders as the victim is from a minority community, while the accused is affiliated to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party.

Khan said, “I don’t want to communalize the incident but let me tell the fact that as the victim belonged to a Muslim community and the accused is from the rulin party neither any Minister nor any Government official visited the family of the victim.

The Moinabad Police recorded the statement of the victim’s younger sister in which she stated that her deceased sister was raped and murdered by the accused, he said and alleged that the Police changed the statement in the FIR.

He also alleged that the Police is doing the handy work for the accused to save him from the heinous crime.

Saying that the statement of the eye witness is crucial, he said, “prima-facie on the statement recorded by the Police in the FIR clearly shows that the accused will not be found guilty if the trial begins in the Court.”

He added that there’s a likelihood that injustice will prevail against the justice as the scene of the offence is changed by the police.

He urged the Governor that the case should also get importance as given the rape and death case of a veterinary doctor which happened in November last year.

He also asked the governor to pass necessary orders to give ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakhs and provide government jobs to a member of the victim’s family.
