New Agriculture laws will increase farmers income: Kishan Reddy


Hyderabad, Oct 5: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Monday said that the new Agriculture laws would increase the income of  farmers in the country.

Speaking to newsmen at BJP State headquarters here, Reddy said that the opposition parties were propagating misinformation against Farm laws.

He said there was never any attempt to undermine Minimum Support Price (MSP) with the promulgation of the ordinance and subsequent laws.

“MSP will be efficiently implemented by the BJP-led NDA government. If farmers do not get good market price, the Centre will purchase their produce by paying MSP”,  the Minister said.

As part for reforms, the NDA Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought this Farm laws aimed at doubling farmers income, Mr Reddy said the new agriculture laws would give freedom to the  farmers to sell their produce anywhere in the country, at whatever price they like.
He said that the Agriculture laws were also enacted with the aim of dismantling the brokerage system and protecting the rights of farmers to sell their produce freely.

The Minister said that not a single farmer had participated in the agitation against the Agriculture laws but only opposition parties including  Congress and Left Parties were agitating to gain “political mileage”.

“We will create awareness among the farmers on new agricultural laws by holding seminars and round table conferences across Telangana”, Mr Reddy added.

Reacting on water sharing dispute with Andhra Pradesh, the  Minister asked both the Chief Ministers K Chandrashekar Rao (Telangana) and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy (Andhra Pradesh) to resolve the issue amicably by discussing together.
