Mohammed Rafi tops APLS Telugu poetry competition

Narayanpet, Oct 5: A young man from Narayanpet district’s Dhanwada takes first position in a Telugu-language poetry competition organized under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh Library Society (APLS) on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

Mohammed Rafi, who topped the competition will soon receive an Award for the same from Andhra Pradesh’ Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He will also receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed his concern over the Telugu language that he thinks might disappear in line with the changing times in today’s society.

He urged the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu states to preserve the Telugu language. He is currently writing articles for various newspapers.

It may also be mentioned that Rafi was awarded as the Best Article Writer in Telugu language in an essay writing competition conducted by Milaap Foundation in July this year across 20 states of the country.
