Haritha Haram Program to kick off from Nov 4

Hyderabad, Oct 31: Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav on Thursday instructed officials concerned to conduct the flagship Haritha Haram program on Minister Road in Secunderabad on November 4.

At a review meeting with officials at Buddha Bhavan here, he said that the state government is conducting the green drive in a prestigious manner for a better environment. 

The minister asked the officials to make arrangements for the green drive on November 4. He asked them to coordinate with other departments for the successful conduct of the Haritha Haram next week in the city. 

The aim of the green drive program is to expand greenery in the state to fight pollution and increase rainfall for better agricultural production. The state has about 24% greenery and efforts are on to increase it to full extent– up to 34%, he said. 

The minister further vouched for speedy expansion of the greenery to fight industrial pollutants and build a green Telangana. The state government is taking up the green drive in phases and taking necessary steps the minister said. 

He stressed the need for an increase in social forestry and natural forests to build a green state of Telangana to push for agriculture growth. Srinivas Yadav called upon people to participate in the famous green drive and keep their environs cleaner further vouched for speedy expansion of the greenery to fight industrial pollutants and build a green Telangana. The state government is taking up the green drive in phases and taking necessary steps the minister said.
