Hyderabad, Oct 28: Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 was inaugurated on Monday at NMDC Corporate Office with administering of Pledge to Employees by Shri Sumit Deb, Director (Personnel) in presence of Chief Guest, APVN Sarma, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to Governor.
Sarma, emphasized the need for adhering to procedures and revision of same periodically considering practical business realities. He shared his personal experiences in various capacities on how win-win solutions can be implemented with revision of policies in addition to preventing malpractices. He underlined the need to consider the antecedents of the employee while deciding quantum of punishments.
VVS Sreenivas, Chief Vigilance Officer explained the relevance of theme “Integrity – A way of Life” and role of employees in improving organizational integrity. He also stated that over the past few years Central Vigilance Commission is laying greater emphasis on preventive vigilance and participation of citizens from all sections of society in fight against corruption.
Sreenivas informed that in line with vision of Commission: Painting, elocution and essay writing competitions conducted in several schools and colleges in city and projects located in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Formation of CVC logo with human chain in schools/colleges is an innovative activity taken up to catch the imagination of youngsters.
