Mahbubnagar, Oct 9: After Gandhi and Osmania hospitals, Government Medical College in Mahbubnagar has now been equipped with RT-PCR testing laboratory by the Telangana Government.
Telangana Tourism & Culture and Archaeology Minister V Srinivas Goud on Friday inaugurated the laboratory here in Mahbubnagar.
Speaking at a media briefing later, the Minister said that after the state’ capital, Mahbubnagar is the destination for health and medical related treatment and asserted that the Mahabubnagar Medical College has been named as the best medical college in the state.
He said that this is the first state-of-the-art virology lab in southern Telangana after the twin cities and added that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has also instructed for 50,000 Remdesivir injections to be to Mahabubnagar Medical College, which will be sent soon.
He said that in the past, Mahabubnagar district was lagging behind in all, but now there has been a lot of progress, especially in the medical field. He also added that the test results could be obtained here in a short time, as there’s no longer need to send samples to Hyderabad.
He said that the RTPCR laboratory provides testing for not only Covid-19, but also for every viral disease including HIV, hepatitis B, swine flu, Ebola, encephalitis, fungal infections and various other viral diseases.
