FREEDOM PRESS BUREAU
Hyderabad, Oct 9: Former Minister and ex-Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Friday gave financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to the family members of victim of Moinabad rape and murder case.
Victim’s sister Afreen Begum, brother Salman and other relatives came to the residence of Shabbir Ali at Jubilee Hills on Friday.
Shabbir Ali, along with Hyderabad Congress Committee Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah and other Congress leaders, had a detailed discussion with the family members on the status of case and also their economic conditions. Shabbir Ali also spoke to the Investigation Officer, Ashok Chakravarthy, over phone and enquired about the status of investigation.
The ACP told Shabbir Ali that the investigation was going on and the forensic report was expected in the next two-three days. He said that the accused (Madhu Yadav) was already lodged in prison and it would be difficult for him to come out on bail as he has been arrested under PD Act. He assured Shabbir Ali that the police would complete the investigation in a fair manner without any delays.
The Congress leader said that the victim girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered by the TRS leader, was the sole bread earner for the family. He slammed the State Government for not extending any financial assistance.
He said that neither Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao nor Home Minister Mahmood Ali or any other ministers met the family members even once or extended any financial assistance.
Since the family is poor and victim’s sister Afreen Begum has been left alone, Shabbir Ali said that a financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 has been given to her. Further, he said that the girl had no formal education so far.
Therefore, he announced that he would bear all the expenses if any NGO provides her basic education, including Deeni Taleem.
Shabbir Ali said that the Congress party would extend all required support to the victim’s family and it would also do a proper follow up on the investigation to ensure that the victim and her family gets justice.
