Telangana’s Covid-19 tally crosses 2,000-mark; 169 new cases, 4 deaths

Hyderabad, May 29: Telangana State on Friday crossed 2000-mark in Covid-19 positive local cases, with as many as 100 new positive local cases being reported in last 24-hours, the highest number of single-day local cases till date.

This pushes the total positive local cases to 2,008, added the state’s health bulletin.

According to the bulletin, overall positive cases reported is 169, with this the total number of positive patients in the hospitals is 973.

GHMC has been showing a surge in Covid-19 cases since past few days. As many as 82 positive cases were on Friday reported from the area.

While 14 cases were reported from Ranga Reddy district, which however is the neighbouring district to the Hyderabad.

Out of the rest, 2 cases were reported from each Sanga Reddy and Medak districts.

For the 11th day in a row, the state reported deaths due to Covid-19. With 4 deaths on Friday, the toll for the last 11-days climbed to 38, pushing the overall toll to 71.

In addition to the local cases, out of the 69 persons who tested positive for Covid-19, 64 are Saudi Arabia deportees and 5 are migrants.

With no foreign evacuee tested positive on Friday, the total number of Covid-19 cases among foreign returnees stands at 30.

Out of total of 417 non-local cases, 207 are Saudi Arabia deportees and 180 are migrants.

Around 36 were on Friday discharged from hospital after they fully recovered. With this, the number of the total cured persons rises to 1,381.
