Women’s Protest against CAA, NRC & NPR on Feb 2

Hyderabad, Feb 1: A Women’s Protest Conference against the CAA, NRC & NPR organized by United Muslim Action Committee (UMAC) will be held on Sunday, February 2 at Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom in Shivrampally.

The UMAC who have previously organized the ‘Tiranga Rally’ and ‘Ehtejaji Mushaira’ (Poetry Protest) against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) 2019, National Register of Citizens (NRC) & National Population Register (NPR) have announced that the conference will commence at 2 pm and conclude around 5 pm.

Urging the women to participate in the conference, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) said “It’s our country, It’s our children’s country and nobody can take that away from us. We request the women the homemakers and grandmothers, doctors and lawyers, students and teachers of Hyderabad and Telangana to participate” in a tweet.

In the conference, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP) Asaduddin Owaisi, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB)’s Dr Asma Zehra, Majlis Tameer-e-Millat Vice-President Aqeela Hashmi, Progressive Women Organisation President Sandhya, Alliance against CAA Convener Vemula Murtala, All India Samajika Mahajana General Secretary Rukmini Naika and other leaders, social activists will be addressing the gathering.

The AIMIM-led UMAC earlier planned to form a ‘human chain’ from Mohammadi Lanes to Bapu Ghat, Karman Ghat but later cancelled as the Police did not accord with its permission.

Meanwhile, UMAC member-organization Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) – Telangana is also organizing a Public Meeting ‘Our Responsibility in Current Situation’ on Sunday, February 2 at Jamia Darul Huda here in Hyderabad.

The public meeting is being held to mark the People of India rejection of CAA, NRC & NPR.

The JIH-Telangana announced that the public meeting will commence at 11 pm and conclude at around 1:30 pm on Sunday.

National Convener of Alliance Ravi Nair will be attending the meet as the Chief Guest while he will be accompanied by JIH-Telangana President Hamid Mohammed Khan.

JIH City President Mohammed Rashaduddin, Progressive Women Organisation (PWO)’ Sandhiya, BAMCEF State President Dr. Kumar, Jamiat Ahle Hadees State President Dr. Asif Umri, Sunni Dawat-e-Islami’ Moulana Hassan Farooqui, MPJ President Abdul Aziz, Dalit Sainiyam VSR Seelam, Moulana Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin Faheem, Sardar Surendar Singh and others will be speaking at the public meeting.
