MBT demands justice for Secunderabad murder victim

Hyderabad, Feb 1: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) Spokesperson Amjedullah Khan demanded justice and questioned the Telangana Government for not responding over sexual assault & murder of a 17-year-old girl at her residence in Secunderabad.

Amjedullah Khan also requested the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Minister for IT & Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao to allot time to personally meet and represent the matter along with victim’s family to take further necessary action.

Khan said “apathy of the incident is that not a single Govt. representative visited the victim’s house or spoke with the victim’s mother to console her nor any ex-gratia was announced.”

Khan also lashed out at Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP) Asaduddin Owaisi for not caring to visit the victim’s parent or speak on this issue. The victim’s residence comes under Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao.

On January 24, the 17-year-old minor girl was pushed from the 2nd floor of her residence after being attacked with a sharp weapon.

After registering the case with FIR No: 65/2020 u/s 302, 201, 354D IPC, 11 & 12 POSCO Act 2012, the Chilkalguda Police with the help of CCTV footage arrested a resident of victim’s locality Shoeb.

During the interrogation, Shoeb who studied at the same school as the victim accepted committing the crime.

It was also learned that the accused used to harass the victim since last few weeks after the victim’s family refused Shoeb’s marriage proposal four months ago.

The victim was being brought up by her mother who used to earn money by stitching clothes after the death of the victim’s father two years ago.
