Hyderabad, April 14: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Saturday demanded an unconditional apology from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for insulting the Dalit icon and father of the constitution, Bharthrathna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by not attending the 127th Birth Anniversary Celebrations.
Shabbir said that while the entire nation paid tributes to the sacrifices and contributions of the Dalit leader, the TRS chief who usurped power by the deceptive declaration that he would make a Dalit as CM, was cozily sitting in his five-star office. KCR should apologize to the nation as he failed to even pay floral tributes to Ambedkar Statue.
Shabbir was addressing media along with Former Minister D. Sridhar Babu at Gandhi Bhavan.
Dr. B.R Ambedkar had visualized reservations not just for SC/ST but also BCs and Muslims so that all communities could grow at equal pace in the country. KCR didn’t pay tributes on the anniversaries of national leaders like Babu Jagjivan Ram, Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Pandith Jawarlal Nehru. This shows the megalomaniac, anti-democratic and dictatorial leadership of KCR, Shabbir added.
Shabbir further said that KCR is like a frog in the well who believed on its own supremacy and failed to fulfilled any of his poll promises like three acres of land to landless Dalits, Dalit as the first CM of Telangana, two bedroom Houses to SC/STs, Ambedkar Statue of 175 feet at Hyderabad, Ambedkar Bhawan, Komaram Bheem Bhavan, Islamic Cultural Center, Christian Bhavan, etc.
On KCR’s proposal to form a third front against Congress and BJP, Shabbir said that both KCR and Deve Gowda were popular for their political opportunism and hence no sensible political party was coming forward with them. KCR himself had cruised around the Congress, BJP and even the TDP in the last three general elections since 2004.’ Uncanny KCR always shined while the candle burned and jumped to next political power corridor and hence there is no spontaneous support for his third front.
